The history and day-to-day life of the soldiers involved the world’s highest, less
known and most absurd war. This conflict began 20 years ago, in 1984, and
was a battle for the control over the Siachen glacier (5000 – 7500 m, i.e. 16,400
– 24,600 ft) located at the extreme northern edge of the Indian-Pakistan border.

This film is about a war that not even the most cynical among strategists could
have imagined!

We see twenty years of conflict simply to maintain sovereignty over a few
hundred square kilometres of ice and rock lost somewhere in the middle of the
Himalaya. There are few photographs of this war and, up until now, no camera
had ever filmed its location or its ill-fated actors on either opposing sides. In
2004, for the first time, a filming crew was allowed to film the advanced posts
of both armies.

This documentary hopes to bring forth a powerful message of peace and to
expose the futility of arguments advanced by belligerent countries when it
comes to justifying war.
